It becomes addictive at times, painting, playing with paint. When the paintings go well that is.
This one began with me wanting more control, but the paint began to wrestle back. It wanted to be more dramatic, I had to stop, stand back, breath……………when I stopped fighting, and went with the flow, the painting became easy, and stronger. I like this one! I have enjoyed doing all these storm studies so far. They allow for an expression of freedom that isn’t going on in the world outside my house.
I used to dislike working in water colours because there was not the intensity of colour, the richness that oils seem to have. Seems I was mistaken, the colours are rich and varied, the translucence hints at what goes on beneath the surface, they become more
My original intention had only been to to 6 Caswell Storm studies, but I might just do a couple more if the mood takes me, see what appears?
There is so much action occurring in this, I love it!
