This sketch is the third from the Summer Storms series that explores the high tide at Caswell. The light dimming the colour and the energy change, the white of the waves seem more intense, or is it the way I feel with the next Welsh lockdown a few days away. Now and then mixing, the moment it happened, and the moment the painting comes to life different time frames….

The lock down will be fine if the weather holds…..the autumn leaves are gold and orange, you can kick your way through them this year instead of squelching. If the walls of water return, it will become confinement.

Outside has taken on a new meaning……. Shivering wrapped up in coats sat outside on the seafront drinking steaming coffee….. instead of cosy inside by the log burner…..but it is refreshing. Busking in parks in any moments of sun, makes you feel alive, we are finding our way through.
