Swansea bay, is changing, changeable, the tide, weather and developments. It is never the same from day to day, moment to moment. Greens, blues, blacks, sunshine, rain. Tide in, storms, tide out…..and then come the buildings…..

This was a day about a decade ago, they had just given permission for the development of the first tall seafront tower in Swansea, I decided I needed to capture it before it changed forever.

These are small sketches are two from a few I did very quickly as the weather changed, sweeping across the bay, eventually forcing me to rush for cover. Having rediscovered them, they have inspired me to do a few more very quick sketches over the next week. They are not about creating the perfect picture, it is about exploring, searching for the images….I may post some of them….The storm we have had over the last few days will be my inspiration, but I will return to Swansea bay as well, and paint it now, just to observe the changes. The bay Campus, the tall towers that are growing at Sea level, waiting for sea level rises……..
