The sun is back out, the sound of bees buzzing around the dark purple buddliea, the dogs chasing each other in circles, the apples have grown, I am getting used to this new normal. There are times when I itch to do things, other when I just soak into it and accept.
Today’s painting may not be the best but it is the one closest to my heart. It is not just a painting of waves, it is the connection of times……A storm of happy, energy, a bit wild, but not dangerous, beautiful, free. life is changing. Woven in the brush strokes is the scent of Aikido mats, and a cat named Odd Sox. Brown swirling carpet, hessian wall paper, dark green velvet curtains. Rows of bright yellow national geographic, a tv which always had the back off of it…..of Steve explaining as we walked together that waves in Swansea bay were unusual…..the Artist connecting in time. The visual moment of inspiration, the emotion connection that wanders on as you process. The influence of the ‘now’ on the energy of the brush strokes, the rhythms. This is a painting I will never sell, staring into it, it transports me back for a few brief moments to those wonderful times.
Today. Now! I have many more images bubbling to come out. The mountains of duvets and bed coverings from the chalet are being organised, shelved, and my painting space is re appearing….it won’t be long and the new images will burst free……Wonderful new moments woven into exciting new paintings………
But these journeys into the past are nice too`…..
