This is one of my favorite paintings, it shows how stunning Caswell can be. This particular day was freezing, it had been trying to snow, my fingers as I were numb as I wandered the beach looking for inspiration, I turned to leave the beach, and then something made me turn back….just as the light poured through a gap in the cloud.Winter here is amazing, yes it rains, but the light, space, atmosphere is wonderful. Swansea, Gower captures you heart. The town itself is nothing special…the lovely ugly town as Dylan T expressed…..but the natural scenery of Gower is as beautiful as anywhere. Perhaps I began to take it for granted, where once walked the beach every day, somewhere along the way I became too busy doing everything else….The last few weeks I have had time to stop and look again…….I don’t want everything to go back to the way it was…..of course i want the virus to go but…I like the fact the sky is really blue, not full of pollutant haze…..the birds were the loudest sound, everyone walked round the village….few cars. There was no expectation to be somewhere else, it was ok to relax………..but people are sliding back into the old ways now………..

but the beach and the sky are still beautiful.
